she/her/hers

Hello! Welcome. Thank you for stopping by.

I have quite the unexpected and unique journey. I have heard this, a lot.

I am based in San Francisco, California and am often in the Los Angeles area too. I am currently the Co Executive Director at an incredible health equity nonprofit, Safer Together. Safer Together truly is one-of-a-kind, literally. There is no other organization like it because it was started in response to the unprecedented COVID-19 pandemic. I was brought on as a consultant to build their pandemic response program and operations from the ground up. A month later, I was asked to join the organization full time as their Director of Programs.

I have over fifteen years of experience and consulting in social impact; advocacy; diversity, equity, and inclusion (DEI); business and people development; community building and community relations; education; nonprofit and private sectors; operations; the arts; innovative fashion; branding; marketing and communications. You name it, I’ve probably done it. I attribute this to my passion to fight the injustices me, my family, too many of my fellow community members faced growing up and continue to. I also attribute it to my constant curiosity to learn, to create my own path, in order to, do good my way, through founding a few social impact businesses while always simultaneously doing community-centered, social impact work with many nonprofits.

In addition to founding Jenny Ton Consulting, I was the founder, creative director, and marketing and communications lead for my prior two social enterprises, Retrofit Republic and ACMIST, where I excelled at wearing all hats. Founding these two companies allowed me to merge my passions for social and environmental justice and equity with art and fashion.

I am a longtime activist for the most marginalized communities (vulnerable women and girls, survivors of human trafficking and violence, im/migrants, students, youth, and emerging artists of color) and have proudly affected change through civic engagement and public policy. I have been the voice for these divested communities locally and nationally at the White House.

That’s me advocating for equitable healthcare access and funding for the most vulnerable Asian American and Pacific Islander women and girls at the White House. I was also the keynote speaker at The Asian American Pacific Islander Women’s Briefing.

Also, I was the former director of student development at the world’s largest one-to-one educational model of schools as well as a programming and marketing consultant for Oakland Museum of California, Kearny Street Workshop, and Sol Sisters to name a few. I serve as a board of director for the latter two nonprofits.

I received a History of Art degree from the University of California, Berkeley, studied Asian American and Pacific Islander Studies at the University of Hawaiʻi at Mānoa in a partnership abroad program through the University of California, Los Angeles, and International Politics and Dutch Art and Cultural Studies in The Netherlands and Belgium via UC Berkeley. I also received a business certification from City College of San Francisco.

I deeply love connecting and building community as well as satisfying my curiosity by trying new things and learning all that I can. I can easily be found reading several books concurrently (recommendations are welcome) and planning my next travels.
